    Born and raised in Montreal, Phil recently relocated to San Francisco to join Character’s design team as an Associate Design Director.

    Phil received his AEC in Graphic Design from College Salette and spent the last eight years freelancing and working at various design studios on projects ranging from branding programs to full digital projects. He was part of the team that developed Frank & Oak’s branding and was most recently part of Sid Lee’s design team in Montreal. Phil was also a jury member for the 2014 edition of Grafika, an event recognizing notable Canadian design.

    When Phil isn’t designing, you’ll find him riding his bike, browsing vinyls at the record store, planning his next trip overseas, or cheering for the Montreal Canadiens.

    Originally from Connecticut, Stevie recently relocated to San Francisco to join Character’s strategy team.

    Stevie received her BA in English Literature and Creative Writing from Dartmouth College. She most recently worked for The Atlantic’s digital consultancy as a strategist, though she spent a number of years (and past lives) as a copywriter, namer, and startup community manager.

    When she’s not working on brand visions, she can be found exploring the Pacific Northwest, diving into the latest Man Booker Prize read, drinking lattes, and dabbling in verse.

    Ready for a new adventure, Benita moved from Connecticut to join the Character program management team.

    After receiving her degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Sacred Heart University, Benita spent five years at traditional advertising agencies. Before making the move to San Francisco, she spent three months in Europe traveling, spending time with family in Hungary, and hiking 500 miles across Spain.

    When she’s loves not working, Benita enjoys experiencing all that California has to offer– from hiking along the coast to exploring local farmers’ markets.

    The SanDisk Connect media drive, allows users to transfer files, music or video from their mobile devices (phones, tablets and laptops) to the drive without any wires or Internet connection.

    Please welcome another excellent addition to our design team, Natalia.

    Although she was born in Pechenga, a remote industrial town above the Arctic Circle, Natalia spent the majority of her childhood in Moldova. Her family then moved to Italy, where she pursued a degree in Fashion Design at Polytechnic University of Milan.

    Not long after graduation, she found herself on the other side of the world designing jewelry for Colleen Mauer Designs, a small handmade jewelry company based in San Francisco, and freelancing as a graphic designer and illustrator. Eager to jump into the world of branding, her passion for design brought her to Character.

    Beyond designing, Natalia also enjoys drawing, taking pictures of urban patterns, and making jewelry for family and friends. She loves puff pastries and Puerto Rican food.

    It wasn’t long after word of Character’s creative opportunity reached Claudia in Melbourne, Australia that she packed her bags, stepped on a plane and made a bee-line for San Francisco to join our design team.

    With a Degree in Creative Advertising from RMIT University and Graphic Design from Shillington College, Claudia gained experience in both a boutique and a larger design practice in her home city. Claudia worked at Foolscap Studio as a Graphic Designer amongst a small team of interior designers and architects, and most recently at Yoke as a member of a larger design team.

    When Claudia isn’t designing, she can be found searching for the city’s best gelato, or looking for a new indoor plant to add to her already growing collection.

    The Character crew extends a warm welcome to Meaghan, the newest member of the project management team.

    Born and raised in Rhode Island, Meaghan joins us after several adventures out west. With a degree in Strategic Communication and Psychology from the University of Denver, she’s most recently sharpened her skills at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners and Carat. She is passionate about strategy and design, and eager to delve into the world of branding.

    Like a true New Englander, she lives for sports, beach days on the Cape, and Dunkin Donut’s ice coffee.

    Hailing from the Midwest, Keene recently relocated to San Francisco to join Character’s design team.

    Keene received his BFA in Visual Communication Design from The University of Kansas and has spent the past few years working at various advertising and branding agencies at home in Kansas City and abroad in London. Most recently, he was part of the creative team at Design Ranch.

    When not designing, you will find Keene searching for his next pair of Nikes, watching his favorite childhood sitcoms on Netflix, or daydreaming about his next trip abroad.

    Please welcome Michael Mason to the Character design team.

    Michael was born and raised in Montréal and earned his DEC in Graphic Design from Dawson College. Michael has spent the past few years working with a handful of creative studios, agencies, and direct clients, on projects ranging from interactive installations to boutique branding and packaging programs. Before venturing to San Francisco, Michael worked on the 14′-15′ campaign for La Maison Théâtre in Montréal.

    When Michael isn’t at Character, he likes writing to-do lists, working on personal projects, and going on bike rides.

    Born and raised in Los Angeles, Liz originally came to San Francisco to finish her design studies at California College of Arts.     Outside of the office, you can find Liz trying to book her next trip overseas, appreciating the great outdoors, catching the newest (or oldest) flick, or shopping in the pen section of Muji.

    A true mountain-man at heart, Andrew grew up in Lake Arrowhead, California, before heading to lower altitudes for a 12-year stint in San Diego. While in San Diego, Andrew developed a diverse background–having worked for creative agencies, taught high school graphic design and even designed baseball cards at Upper Deck. Most recently, Andrew worked in-house for Sony and Williams-Sonoma.

    When not designing, you’ll find Andrew enjoying the great outdoors, on the golf course or enjoying good food and drink. While he loves almost everything the Bay Area has to offer, he firmly believes Southern California makes a superior burrito.

    She loves the ballet and was a founding member of the Joffrey Auxiliary Board. Other interests include playing tennis, cheeseburgers and nail art.

    Character is excited to welcome Ed O’Brien to the team.

    Ed is a graduate of the Academy of Art and brings over a decade of experience designing/directing in San Francisco–from branding programs and campaigns to digital product design. Prior to joining Character, Ed led design teams for HUGE and Hybrid Design, as well as running a boutique design studio for small engagements and personal projects.

    Originally from Washington state, Ed’s tastes in food and wine are almost as varied as his tastes in music and film. A big fan of distortion. Not a fan of chocolate.

    It is with great pleasure that we welcome Daniel Fuhrer to the Character design team. Daniel spent his early years in Brazil before moving to the Great State of Texas where he resided in a series of oddly-named places; Tomball, Comfort and Denton. Daniel holds a Communication Design and Anthropology degree, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of North Texas. Prior to Character, Daniel worked at Matchbox Studio, Tractorbeam and adventure-travel startup, ZOZI.

    Daniel has many interests, but highlights include; heather grey t-shirts, watches, book binding, “river life”, Bahn Mi sandwiches, Garage Punk, AfroPop and Southern Rock.

Steve and his team have spent the past decade developing pCell wireless technology so consumers can have a reliable “mobile fiber” experience, whether they’re sitting indoors or on a high-speed train.

    Character worked with Steve and his team to unveil pCell technology to the world at the 2014 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

    In her free time, you’ll find Gina exploring new corners of the world, or even just in the beautiful city by the Bay. Who said bucket lists were supposed to get shorter?
